Rita Mulcahy PMP Exam Prep Materials

A few posts ago I mentioned the Rita Mulcahy materials that were very helpful for me when I took and passed the PMP exam.

What was so great about the book was that she goes over examples in detail. The exam questions will seem very familiar once you go through her examples and solutions. In fact you won't be surprised at all on the exam if you have gone through her material carefully and thoroughly.

I also listened to her audio CD while driving to and from work every day. In the CD she goes over the common and key terms and concepts.

Someone borrowed my book at work, he left the company and I never saw the book again but I am going to buy a new copy since I think it will also help me at work. Every day I come across issues or opportunities (translation - problems) that I know are covered in the book. For example, various ways of setting up a contract. I am not kidding, the book is that great.

The Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) is the peak body for project management in Australia. Formed in 1976, as the Project Managers' Forum, the AIPM has been instrumental in progressing the profession of project management over the past 25 years ....

... and the profession is growing rapidly – a quick review of the employment pages reveals just how diversified our profession has become. For example, job advertisements featuring project management as an accounting skill almost doubled between 1999 and 2000 and a Project Manager in the IT sector is one of the highest paying technical positions in the industry. The number of positions which specify project management skills as a pre-requisite or “desirable” have doubled in the past 18 months.

The AIPM’s role is to improve the knowledge, skills and competence of project team members, project managers and project directors, all of whom play a key role in the achievement of business objectives, not just project objectives. Rita Mulcahy's PMP exam prep material is for real. It certainly was the main reason why I was able to easily pass the PMP exam. Her explanations in her book are very thorough and they cut through all of the confusion to get to the real heart of the concepts. They show you exactly how to work the problems that you will find on the exam. After going through her materials there were no surprises for me on the exam.
